Title: Victoria and AlbertProduction: 2001, BBC Read: Victoria and Albert by Richard Hough The love story of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Begins with how the young Princess Victoria became Queen. As regent, Victoria comes to terms with the enormous duties that lay ahead of her, while also falling deeply in love.
Title: David CopperfieldProduction: 1999, BBC Read: David Copperfield by Charles Dickens A fictional biography (or memoar) of the character David Copperfield and begin with the strange events surrounding his birth. The story of his life is entertaining, surprising, sad and most of all - eventfull. The Rural
Title: Wives and DaughtersProduction: 1999, BBC Read: Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell Molly Gibson lives with her widowed father in a small town in the 1830's. When her father decides to remarry and Molly is forced to share her beloved father with her new stepmother. Soon Molly's quiet world is turned upside down.
Title: MiddlemarchProduction: 1994, BBC Read: Middlemarch by George Eliot Set in a small english town in the 1830's, in conflict with new and old ideas. A young doctor arrives in town and sturs up heated emotions. Dorothea Brooke marries the elderly Edward Casaubon, but it ends in mutual frustration.
Title: CranfordProduction: 2007, BBC Read: Cranford, My Lady, Doctor Harrison by Mrs Gaskell A most amusing portrait of a small town and it's inhabitants. And as the modern age aproaches, and the railroad in particular, the small population finds themself in distress where their old habits and ideas is under threath. The social och class related Title: North and SouthProduction: 2005, BBC Read: North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell Margaret Hale comes from the south of England and settles with her parents in Milton, an industrial town in the north of England. Milton is a new world for Margaret and she faces the horror of industrialism, but also love.
Title: Our Mutual FriendProduction: 1999, BBC Read: Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens Set in the both the high society and darkest corners of London in the 1860's. A pair of workers inherits a fortune and sets out on a social journey. Both rich and poor wish to profit from them. Meanwhile love cross the border of class.
Title:Daniel DerondaProduction: 2003, BBC Read: Daniel Deronda by George Eliot The desitute Gwendolen marries for money, but enters into a miserable marriage. Daniel Deronda is not certain of his identity. Then, one day he resuces a young jewish girl and the mystery comes into a new light, and with it new ideas.
